Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

Enjoy the sweet and sour tastes of this simple Orange Chicken recipe for the slow cooker. It's a tasty take on a classic takeout dish that's easy to make in the crockpot. Orange sauce coats tender chicken, making it perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a casual get-together with family and friends.

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish optional
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish optional

Instructions:

In a bowl, mix together orange marmalade, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes

Place chicken pieces in the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over them

Stir to coat chicken evenly

Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until chicken is cooked through and tender

In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to make a slurry

Stir the slurry into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking to thicken the sauce

Once cooked, serve the orange chicken over rice or noodles

Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired

Enjoy your Slow Cooker Orange Chicken!
